Compare / Lode and Jobber

Keep Jobber. Improve the work around it.

Start with one task around your existing tool. Review a sample result, then confirm the records and access it needs.

Keep the work your team already manages in Jobber. Lode is built to take on the follow-ups, checks and coordination around those records. Start with one task and confirm the connections your account can provide.

When to add Lode

  • Quotes go quiet because nobody owns the next reply.
  • Completed jobs or extra site work still need an invoice.
  • Supplier messages change a visit already in the diary.
  • The office joins job, inbox and accounting records by hand.

Choose one of these tasks for a walkthrough. Review a sample output, then confirm which records and account permissions it needs. See how Lode runs and the operating examples.

What stays in Jobber

Keep these parts of your existing setup.

  • Requests, online booking and lead management.
  • Quotes, scheduling and the calendar.
  • Invoices and payments.
  • The Xero or QuickBooks Online sync.
  • The mobile app your crews use.

Jobber's developer documentation confirms the client object. The quote, job, invoice, visit and request names are inferred from Jobber's changelog. Confirm the record coverage in your account before using those fields in a workflow.

Plan a workflow alongside Jobber

Bring one job and the messages around it to a walkthrough. We assess the records available from Jobber, your inbox and accounting tools. Your account administrator confirms access before any connection is planned.

When Jobber alone is enough

  • You are on Core or Connect, one person does the office, and today's follow-ups are done before the end of the day.
  • Your work is short visits with parts off the van, and no supplier holds you up.
  • Your jobs are recurring rounds and the money comes in on time.

Bring a practical question to the walkthrough

Which jobs include extra work that still needs a price? Which quote needs a reply today? Review a sample result, then agree the records and person responsible for it.

For a repeated task, agree when to check it and who approves the output. Keep the first workflow small enough for your team to review.

What Jobber does well

These are Jobber's own statements, from its help centre and developer documentation. Jobber's marketing and developer sites block automated readers, so those pages were read by hand in a browser. Sources are at the end.

  • Plans. Jobber publishes its prices on its pricing page. The plans are Core (one user), Connect (up to five users), Grow (up to ten) and Plus (up to fifteen). Core gives "an unlimited number of quotes, jobs, and invoices". Prices are on Jobber's pricing page.
  • Where it works. Jobber's Xero integration "is available in the USA, Canada, UK, Australia, and New Zealand", and the account's country sets the currency.
  • The API. Jobber's API is GraphQL, with "a single endpoint for all requests". Its developer docs say "Jobber uses OAuth 2.0, not API keys". A company admin for each Jobber account authorizes an app before it can read that account's data. To see the full schema a developer needs "a Jobber account that has a connected app".
  • Webhooks. Jobber's developer docs describe webhooks that notify an app "when events occur in a connected Jobber account".
  • Accounting. Xero is on Connect and Grow, and the sync "is one way, from Jobber into Xero". QuickBooks Online is "available on select plans", and the new sync "is currently available in Canada and the United States". Jobber "does not sync to QuickBooks Desktop".
  • Job costing. "Job costing is available on the Grow and Plus Plans." Profit is worked out from timesheets, line items and expenses. "Reporting is not available for job costs on recurring jobs."
  • The app. Jobber has a mobile app for the field. The plan articles count "anyone who needs to log into jobber.com or through the mobile app" as a user.

Questions owners ask

Does Lode replace Jobber?

No. Jobber stays the system for requests, quotes, scheduling and invoices. Lode is built to run the routine work around those records. It asks before anything changes.

Does Jobber have an API?

Yes. Jobber's API is GraphQL with one endpoint, and it uses OAuth 2.0. A company admin on your Jobber account authorizes each app. We could not find a plan requirement in Jobber's documentation, so check with Jobber for your plan.

Does Lode need Jobber's API?

Access to Jobber records requires Jobber's authorization step. We confirm the available job, inbox and accounting records with you before planning a connection.

What does Lode cost next to Jobber?

Jobber publishes its prices. Lode pricing depends on the workflow and support your business needs. Book a walkthrough to scope that work with us.

Will Lode change anything in Jobber without asking?

No. Lode prepares the change and a named person approves it. Your team chooses the records to connect and approves changes before they happen. See how it runs and security.
