Compare / Lode and ServiceTitan
Keep ServiceTitan. Improve the work around it.
Start with one task around your existing tool. Review a sample result, then confirm the records and access it needs.
Keep the work your team already manages in ServiceTitan. Lode is built to take on the follow-ups, checks and coordination around those records. Start with one task and confirm the connections your account can provide.
When to add Lode
- Site changes never reach the quoted price.
- Revised drawings arrive outside the job record.
- Supplier bills need checking against what was ordered and delivered.
- A delivery change means rebuilding the crew plan by hand.
Choose one of these tasks for a walkthrough. Review a sample output, then confirm which records and account permissions it needs. See how Lode runs and the operating examples.
What stays in ServiceTitan
Keep these parts of your existing setup.
- Dispatch and appointment assignments.
- Estimates, including mobile estimates on Essentials and The Works.
- Invoicing and the accounting sync.
- Custom memberships and advanced reporting on The Works.
- The Field Mobile App your technicians use.
If you are happy with these, keep them. Nothing on this page asks you to move.
What Lode is built to run around ServiceTitan
Choose the records needed for one task, then confirm how your account can provide them. The examples below show the information to bring together and the work to review.
| Routine job | Records needed | Work for review | Who approves |
|---|---|---|---|
| An appointment at risk from a late part | Purchase orders, appointments, technician shifts | A new slot, the customer message, the crew note | The dispatcher |
| An estimate with no follow-up | Estimates, contacts and contact methods | The chase message, dated | The office |
| An invoice past due with no touch | Invoices, customers | The reminder, with the invoice history attached | The office or the owner |
| A job completed but not invoiced | Jobs, invoices | The list, oldest first | The office |
| A supplier that has not confirmed an order | Purchase orders, vendors | The chase email to the supplier | Procurement |
| A lead with no first reply | Leads, bookings | The first reply, drafted | Sales |
| Unbilled change orders (variations) | Site notes, quoted scope and job records | Extra work linked to its source, for pricing review | The commercial lead |
| Changed drawings | Drawing transmittals and active job references | Affected jobs and an approval request before crews use an old revision | The project lead |
| Three-way supplier bill checks | Supplier bills, purchase orders and delivery records | Quantity or price differences with cited evidence | Accounts or procurement |
| Plans after a schedule change | Crew availability, access, materials and customer commitments | One proposed schedule change with customer and crew drafts | The dispatcher |
| Regular job checks | A job question and the records needed to answer it | A regular check with a named reviewer | The owner |
| A workflow around your business | The firm's bottleneck, evidence and approval rules | A proposed drawing register or review tool | The owner |
The object names in the second column are ServiceTitan's own, from its published API specifications. Lode connects the permitted records to the surrounding job evidence for review.
Plan a workflow alongside ServiceTitan
Bring one job and the messages around it to a walkthrough. We assess the records available from ServiceTitan, your inbox and accounting tools. Your account administrator confirms access before any connection is planned.
Explore the tasks under what Lode runs.
When ServiceTitan alone is enough
- Your office is one person, every job lives in ServiceTitan, and that person finishes the day's follow-ups before they go home.
- Your only pain is the phone. Lode is not a phone system.
- You buy on account from one supplier who never slips. There is nothing to chase.
Bring a practical question to the walkthrough
Which jobs include extra work that still needs a price? Which quote needs a reply today? Review a sample result, then agree the records and person responsible for it.
For a repeated task, agree when to check it and who approves the output. Keep the first workflow small enough for your team to review.
The decision
| If this is you | Do this |
|---|---|
| ServiceTitan covers the work and the office keeps up | Keep ServiceTitan and carry on. Use the comparison to identify the next workflow worth improving. |
| ServiceTitan holds the jobs, but the chasing and the joining-up are done by hand | Keep ServiceTitan. Book a walkthrough. |
| You want to leave ServiceTitan | Lode is not a ServiceTitan alternative. Compare the other systems on their own pages before you move. |
What ServiceTitan does well
These are ServiceTitan's own statements and filings. Sources are at the end.
- Who it is for. ServiceTitan's annual report describes its users as "your local plumber, roofer, landscaper, HVAC technician and others". Its site lists HVAC, plumbing, electrical, roofing, chimney, garage door, septic, pest control, landscaping and lawn care.
- Pricing. There is no public price list. The pricing page shows three packages, Starter, Essentials and The Works, each with a "Request Pricing" button, and says pricing is per technician.
- Accounting. ServiceTitan connects to QuickBooks Desktop, QuickBooks Online, Sage Intacct, Xero and a general CSV export. Its help centre says accounting integrations "are available to all ServiceTitan customers".
- The API. ServiceTitan has a developer portal with V2 APIs. The API uses OAuth 2.0 with a machine-to-machine flow. To use the portal, a person needs two permissions "enabled by an administrator on your team". A connection is approved by clicking "Allow Access". So API access is granted inside your own account, by a person your administrator has given those permissions.
- Webhooks. The only webhooks we found in its help centre are for Scheduling Pro, in private preview, where "Account configuration is required to use this feature".
- Zapier. ServiceTitan's Zapier route needs the Works or Legacy package, and ServiceTitan says Zapier "is not officially supported by ServiceTitan".
- Scale. For the year ended 31 January 2026, ServiceTitan reported about 10,800 Active Customers. It defines those as customers with over $10,000 of annualized billings. It processed $82.1 billion of gross transaction volume in that year.
- The field app. The Field Mobile App is on the Apple App Store and Google Play. Apple devices need iOS 17.4 or newer.
Questions owners ask
Does Lode replace ServiceTitan?
No. ServiceTitan stays the place for jobs, dispatch, estimates and invoices. Lode is built to run the routine work around those records. It asks before anything changes.
Does Lode need API access to ServiceTitan?
Yes, for a live connection. ServiceTitan's API uses OAuth 2.0. An administrator on your account gives the permissions, and a person in your account clicks "Allow Access". Nothing is connected without that step.
How does Lode use ServiceTitan records?
An administrator authorizes the ServiceTitan records used by each Lode workflow. Lode combines those records with the surrounding job evidence and prepares the next action for approval.
What does Lode cost next to ServiceTitan?
Neither company publishes a price list. ServiceTitan asks you to request pricing. Lode pricing depends on the workflow and support your business needs. Book a walkthrough to scope that work with us.
Will Lode change anything in ServiceTitan without asking?
No. Lode prepares the change and a named person approves it. Your team chooses the records to connect and approves changes before they happen. See how it runs and security.
